I watch HGtv religiously and I am so loaded with ideas for interior design and I came up with an idea (that may have been thought of by someone already--so don't rhidicule!) but it's great for a really low budget Christmas decoration.
Get a glass vase, fairly large (these can be SUPER cheap, like, bucks at places like Micheal's, Hobby Lobby, and especially Walmart) and fill it past the rim with the ball-type ornaments and place it where you like. Once you find a good place for it, put one or two of the same ornaments next to the vase as though they've fallen out of it. I'll try to have a picture example of this soon but I'm not making any promises! --(make sure your vase is clear and colorless or this won't work well!)
